Gather everything you need. Start out by halving your dates. Do this with a knife and do not cut them totally in half. You want them to be bigger pieces to flatten out and stay together better for the bars.
Put a piece of parchment paper down on a pan. Spread out your dates and flatten them into a large rectangle. I put them sticky (insides) side down. Make sure them overlap a tiny but so that they stay together and nothing runs through any cracks.
Melt your peanut butter and melt your chocolate.
Spread your peanut butter over the dates then spread your chocolate over the dates.
Chop your pecans into tiny pieces and sprinkle all over the tops of the bars.
Add a pinch of flaky sea salt.
Place in the freezer for about twenty minutes or so until they are firm enough to cut into bars.
Enjoy!
Notes
You can use pecans, walnuts, or peanuts. You can also use whichever chocolate you prefer.Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
