This simple strawberry syrup is a hit in our house. The time, effort, and ingredients are all super minimal. The flavor is bold but delicious. This would be great on some toast, a biscuit, over waffles or pancakes. I will link some of my favorite recipes below.

I use frozen fruit for my simple syrups, but you could use fresh if you wanted to. Where I live, I don't have access to fresh fruit for very long.
My favorite recipes to pair with this are my sourdough pancakes and waffles.

When I make pancakes or waffles, I like to serve this with a dollop of vanilla greek yogurt. It tastes like dessert without being too sweet and adds a little bit of protein and creaminess.
Equipment
- A pot
- Measuring Spoon
- Measuring Cups
- A Knife
- Cutting Board
- Masher
Ingredients
- 4 Cups frozen strawberries
- 3 tablespoon honey
- ¼ fresh lemon, squeezed. See notes
Instructions
- Gather and measure out your ingredients.
- Wash and cut your lemon. See Note
- Cook all of your ingredients in a pot on the stove on medium low or about 15 minutes.
- If you are making pancakes or waffles, make sure that you start it at the very beginning so that it's done by the time your other food is done.
Notes
- Go slow with adding lemon. Start with less than you think you want and taste test it. Add more if you choose to. You can never get the flavor back out of something, but you can always add more.
- This masher is awesome, it's so handy for syrups, potatoes, avocado, blending soups a little if you don't have an immersion blender. It's very sturdy. Buy it here.
Storage
- This will store well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3 days. Pancakes and Waffles are great leftover and reheated in the toaster oven. Make a double batch of everything and have breakfast for a few days.
