Let's talk about the viral cottage cheese cookie dough floating all over the internet. I know you think it sounds disgusting because it does, however, it tastes pretty good! Don't go in thinking you are eating a tub of cookie dough from the store because you're not. You are eating a high protein, healthier treat that isn't loaded with sugar and who knows what else.

    Cottage Cheese Cookie Dough

My kids actually really enjoy this for a treat. I like that it is based on cottage cheese and almond flour. There is even a full cup of vanilla protein powder in this cottage cheese cookie dough recipe. This recipe is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth and also help you hit your protein goals. It keeps you much more satiated than regular cookie dough because it's high in protein.

Cottage Cheese Cookie Dough in a serving bowl

This cottage cheese cookie dough is better once it has chilled in the refrigerator for a couple hours. Grab your spoon and dig in. I like to make a batch when I am prepping meals and snacks for the week. The texture and flavor are good in the refrigerator for about 4 days.

    Equipment

The equipment is very minimal for this recipe.

    • Food Processor
    • Measuring Cups
    • Measuring Spoons
    • Baking Spatula
    • Mixing Bowl with Lid

    Ingredients

    • 16-20 Oz Cottage Cheese. For the first recipe I tried I used a 16 Oz container, but I like to add a little more.
    • ¼ Cup Pure Maple Syrup
    • 2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
    • 2 Cups Almond Flour
    • 1 Cup Vanilla Protein Powder
    • A pinch of sea salt
    • Chocolate Chips, I have used dark and semi-sweet. Both are good. I use about ½ Cup of mini chocolate chips.

    Instructions

This cottage cheese cookie dough recipe is so simple. First you need to blend your cottage cheese with the maple syrup and vanilla. Once that it smooth mix in the almond flour and protein powder. Then fold in your chocolate chips and a pinch of sea salt. Chill in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours before serving. Enjoy!

    Notes

The first time you make this, use 16 Oz of cottage cheese to get a feel for the texture. I like to use a little more.

    Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. The Texture and flavor hold very well!
