You're going to love these easy taco salad bowls with beef. These are a fun and flavorful twist on traditional tacos. They're perfect for when you're out of taco shells or just want something a little lighter.

Start with a base of crisp lettuce, then pile on seasoned beef, onions, tomatoes, and banana peppers. Crushed tortillas add the perfect crunch, and you can finish it all off with a dollop of sour cream or a splash of hot sauce, or some avocado. It's a quick, satisfying meal the whole family will enjoy.

These taco salad bowls are perfect for a quick weeknight dinner when you want something easy but still full of flavor. They’re also great for casual get-togethers or taco nights when everyone can customize their own bowl just the way they like it. Plus, they’re a fun option for meal prepping lunches ahead of time.

If you love easy and heathy dinners, try my easy steak fajitas, sheet pan garlic honey chicken and broccoli, beef and cabbage stir fry, cheeseburger and potato medley, or lemon chicken and rice bowls.

    Ingredients

The ingredients in this recipe are based around your favorite veggies and seasoned taco meat. Make it your own!

Overhead image of taco salad ingredients including seasoned ground beef, lettuce, sliced red onions, banana peppers, avocado, and a fully assembled taco salad bowl.
    • Ground Beef
    • Taco Seasoning
    • Lettuce
    • Tomato
    • Onion
    • Banana Peppers
    • Avocado
    • Sour Cream
    • Hot Sauce
    • Crushed tortilla chips

See recipe card for quantities and full list of ingredients.

    Instructions

These are so simple. First you cook your ground beef until it reaches a temperature of 160℉, add in your seasoning with a little bit of water. While that is cooking, chop all of your favorite veggies. Toss together, add some extras, and enjoy!

Hint: If you are tired of regular tacos, try adding something tangy like banana peppers!

    Substitutions

If you want to switch things up:

    • Ground Pork or chicken- You can use ground pork or ground chicken instead of ground beef.

    Variations

Hot Sauce - Switch it up and make them spicy with some jalapenos or your favorite hot sauce. We like frank's red hot.

    Equipment

You just need a stovetop to cook up your beef, a cutting board, and a knife.

    Storage

These are absolutely delicious fresh but they also make awesome meal prep lunches!

    Top Tip

When it comes to meal prep lunches or leftovers: Don't add your warm taco meat to your veggies. Wait for it to cool completely before combining.
