Discover the magic of a simple yet delightful Ground Beef and Cabbage Stir-Fry. This tantalizing recipe combines the savory flavors of ground beef with the sweetness of cabbage, creating a dish that is both nutritious and satisfying. Perfect for busy weeknights or when you're in need of a quick meal, this stir-fry is sure to impress with its ease and speed. Dive into this fantastic recipe and let each bite bring comfort and joy to your table.

Ground beef and cabbage bowls plated with some dipping sauce.

You could switch up the veggies in this Ground Beef and Cabbage Stir-Fry but my favorite base is cauliflower rice and cabbage. I like to add carrots and top with tons of green onion, too. I like the cabbage to be left slightly crunchy.

Ground beef and cabbage bowl plated with loads of green onion on top.

If you love these then you will probably love my Korean Beef Bowls. They have a very similar sauce but instead of using soy sauce and sesame oil I like to use coconut aminos and sesame oil. (Less salty and more sweet.)

    Equipment

    • Cutting Board
    • Knife
    • Measuring Spoons
    • Skillet
    • Spatula
    • Tiny dipping bowl for sauce

    Ingredients

For the Ground Beef and Cabbage Stir-Fry

    • 1 lb Cabbage, shredded
    • 1 lb Cauliflower rice or medley, see note
    • 1 lb Ground Beef
    • 1 Cup Carrot sticks or cut into matchsticks
    • 2 tablespoon Fresh Ginger, peeled and minced
    • 3 tablespoon Fresh Garlic, minced
    • 2 tablespoon Soy Sauce
    • Salt + Pepper
    • Garnish with Green Onion

    For the Sauce

    • 1 Part Sesame oil
    • 2 Parts Soy Sauce
    • This just means for every 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, use 2 tablespoon of soy sauce.

    Instructions

    1. Gather everything you need.
    2. Wash and chop your cabbage or cheat like me and buy it pre-washed and shredded.
    3. Peel and mince your ginger, I have also used the ginger paste and that works great, too. Mince your garlic. Wash and slice your green onions.
    4. Get your skillet hot on medium high heat.
    5. Add your ground beef, ginger, and garlic.
    6. Once your beef is fully cooked, drain the grease. Add in about 2 tablespoon of soy sauce and finish browning the beef. Once it is done, set aside.
    7. In the same pan add in your rice cauliflower and carrots and cook until tender. Add in your cabbage and stir every few minutes until it is fully cooked. I like to leave a little crunch. Add some salt and pepper.
    8. Add your ground beef back into the pan and stir to combine everything.
    9. In your dipping bowl, add 1 Part Sesame oil and 2 Parts Soy Sauce. This just means for every 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, use 2 tablespoon of soy sauce. Stir well and pour over your bowls once they are plated. Top with green onions. Enjoy!

    Notes

If you don't have cauliflower rice you can add some cauliflower to a food processor and pulse until it's broken up enough to be similar to cauliflower rice.

    Storage

Once completely cooled, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It's good for about 3-4 days.

    Substitutions

You could serve this over regular rice if you wanted. I have used both separately and together. You could replace the soy sauce with coconut aminos, but add a little bit more salt than you would if you used soy sauce.

I love to make a similar dish, noodles and cabbage with Italian sausage and soy sauce. It's one of my favorites. I'd love to try yours next time, it sounds so delicious! I love that you're adding cauliflower, ginger, and sesame oil. I bet that tastes even better.
