These simple chicken spiedies will be a crowd pleaser for sure. They are perfect for summer parties and super flavorful. They make a great dish to pass that you will be known for! These are pretty easy to make and only require minimal ingredients. This is a recipe of my mom's that we had growing up and we always looked forward to it.

Simple Chicken Spiedies pair well with traditional summer cookout foods like macaroni salad, pasta salad, potato salad, hot dogs, hamburgers, and sausages. It only takes a few minutes to cube your chicken and create your marinade.

These simple chicken spiedies are the best when they are left to marinate for 24 hours or at least overnight in the refrigerator. I think they could be baked in an oven, but it just wouldn't be the same as the flavor grilling or smoking adds. These are always tender and delicious.
Equipment
- Knife
- Cutting Board
- Measuring Cups
- Measuring Spoons
- Large Bowl with lid
- Skewers
- Smoker or Grill
Ingredients
- Chicken: I like to use about 5 pounds. I think that's about one large package of chicken usually. As long as you can stir to coat the chicken, you can use however much you want. It doesn't need to all be totally soaked in it the entire time as long as you are stirring somewhat frequently.
- Apple Cider Vinegar: This adds a delicious tang that can't be beaten. I can't think of a replacement for this. It's the star ingredient of the marinade.
- Olive Oil: I think this originally had vegetable oil but I prefer to use olive oil or avocado oils since they're healthier.
- Egg
- Black Pepper
- Poultry Seasoning: Super good flavoring that is strong, don't skip this.
- TBSP Salt
Instructions
- Gather your measuring cups, measuring spoons, a large bowl that has a lid, your knife, cutting board, and ingredients. Cube up your chicken into small size pieces that will fit nicely on a skewer.
- Create your marinade and add in your cubed chicken. Place the lid on your container and set in the refrigerator. Every few hours, mix the chicken around in the marinade to be sure it evenly soaks up the flavor.
- When it is time to cook your chicken, place it on skewers and grill it until it reaches an internal temp of at least 165°F.

Notes
- These are best when they can marinate for 24 hours but you can get away with overnight in the refrigerator for 12 hours or so.
Storage
- These store well in the refrigerator for up to about 3 days in an airtight container. They are delicious leftover.
