This uses only healthy ingredients and has no processed sugars. It's great to assemble ahead of time to throw in the oven while you're eating dinner or when last minute guests are coming over.

If you're a foodie at heart like I am, you find a way to make your favorite desserts a little bit healthier. I am always experimenting in the kitchen trying to test out healthier swaps. This was a recipe that took a couple times to get it right for me. If you have apples that you need to use up- this is the perfect recipe to try.

It can be made in an air fryer in about twenty five minutes at 325°F. You would need a deep air fryer with a rack like the ninja one that I will link in the recipe card. You could also bake at 350°F in a regular oven for about double the time. It's done when the apples are soft and the top is golden brown and crispy.

Grab your pie dish and one bowl and let's get started.

    Ingredients for the base:

    • 5 medium size apples
    • ½ Cup pure maple syrup
    • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

    Instructions for the base:

    1. Wash, peel, and dice your apples up.
    2. Add the apples to the baking dish.
    3. Pour in your maple syrup and your cinnamon. Mix well.

    Ingredients for the topping:

    • 1 Cup Oats
    • ½ Cup almond flour
    • ½ stick of butter- diced
    • ¼ Cup almond milk- unsweetened
    • ⅛ Cup pure maple syrup
    • dash of cinnamon
    • After baking: Vanilla Greek yogurt- optional

    Instructions for the topping:

    1. In a small bowl combine oats, almond flour, and cinnamon
    2. Dice up your butter and mix in
    3. Add in your pure maple syrup and almond milk
    4. Mix well. It will be chunky and the butter will still be in cold little chunks
    5. Coat evenly over the apple mixture
    6. Pop in your air dryer at 325°F for about 25 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown
    7. Top with a dollop of vanilla greek yogurt

    • measuring spoons
    • Air Fryer
    • Pie Dish
    • peeler
    • Corer optional

    Ingredients

    Apple base

    • 5 apples
    • ½ cup pure maple syrup
    • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    Topping

    • 1 Cup Oats
    • ½ Cup almond flour
    • ½ stick butter diced
    • ¼ cup almond milk unsweetened
    • ⅛ cup pure maple syrup
    • 1 dash cinnamon to taste

    Toppings

    • Vanilla greek yogurt a dollop over this when warm is so good

    Instructions

    Apple Base

    • Wash, peel, and dice your apples up small
    • Add the apple to the pan
    • Pour in the apples and cinnamon. Mix well

    The topping

    • In a small bowl, combine oats, almond flour, and cinnamon.
    • Dice up your butter and mix in
    • Add in your pure maple syrup and almond milk
    • Mix well- it will be chunky from the butter and thats okay
    • Coat evenly over apple mixture
    • Pop in your air fryer at about 325F for 20 minutes
    • It will be done when the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown
    • Don't forget to top with a dollop of vanilla greek yogurt

    Notes

All ovens and air fryers are going to be different.  I have the ninja foodie and I like to set it to 325°F and bake for roughly 20 minutes.  Keep an eye on it and if the topping is getting brown and the apples are not soft yet- turn down your temp.
In a regular oven I would bake at 350°F for about 50 minutes- 1 hour.

It may take some trial and error to learn what works best with your oven or air fryer.
